Eisenkot coalition

The coalition proposed by Eisenkot appears to have one primary goal: to oust Benjamin Netanyahu and the right-wing bloc by any means necessary. It is a coalition built on hostility and incitement. Hatred, revenge, and personal animosity cannot sustain a stable government.

With this constellation, Israel would face serious political, economic, and social strain. The country needs leaders with a clear national vision—not a coalition whose main objective is to fight. Such a government would likely put political revenge ahead of Israel’s national interests.

There are also serious questions about potential partners such as Yair Golan and Mansour Abbas. Their statements, positions, and conduct should be examined against the legal standards of Article 7A of the Basic Law. They have crossed a line. Abbas’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, and his positions on Hamas and Palestinian national identity, should be subject to a binding review.

Eisenkot himself should be judged by his words, decisions, and political judgment. His hostility toward Netanyahu and the right raises a basic question: can he put Israel’s national interests above his political struggle?

Israel cannot afford a coalition united mainly by hatred of the sitting government. A government like Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s is held together by principles, responsibility, and a plan for Israel’s security and future—not, like Eizenkot’s proposed coalition, by the desire to eliminate political opponent.
