PM Netanyahu near the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu near the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip: “We control the territory and adhere to this line. We are doing everything in our power to achieve our goal – the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip will no longer pose a threat to Israel.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with Chief of Staff Major General Eyal Zamir, Southern Command Commander Major General Yaniv Azor, and 99th Bazek Division Commander Brigadier General Elad Zuri, visited an Israeli military post near the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip today (Wednesday).

The Prime Minister was briefed by the commanders on Israeli military activities in the Yellow Line area, operational missions in the sector, and efforts to eliminate threats and ensure the safety of the armed forces and the civilian population.

 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

“I am here in the Gaza Strip with the Chief of Staff, the Commander-in-Chief, and our heroic commanders and soldiers. We control this territory. You can see Ashkelon, you can see all our settlements from every direction: Sderot, Netivot, the kibbutzim.

We control this territory. We are not retreating. We are holding this line. We control 60% of the Gaza Strip and will continue to hold it because we eliminate the terrorists who threaten us and report on this every morning. Yesterday, we captured the leader of Hamas. We will likely learn some details.

But we are doing everything to achieve our goal—the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip will no longer pose a threat to Israel. This goal has essentially already been largely achieved, and there is still much to do—and we will do it.”

The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, the head of the National Security Council, and his Military Secretary.
